Sustainxiety Institute - Ensuring Human-AI Compatibility

A research and applied knowledge initiative dedicated to understanding the forces that shape human behavior, economic systems, technological transformation, and long-term societal continuity. At the center of our work is the development of the Economic Theory of Humanity (ETH).

About the Institute

The Sustainxiety Institute is a research and applied knowledge initiative dedicated to understanding the forces that shape human behavior, economic systems, technological transformation, and long-term societal continuity.

At the center of its work is the development of the Economic Theory of Humanity (ETH), a structured framework that examines how the fundamental human forces of Hunger, Fear, Sustainxiety, and Alpha interact with evolving economic terrains.

Through research publications, interdisciplinary dialogue, and collaboration with scholars and institutions, the Institute seeks to contribute to a deeper understanding of how humanity can navigate technological transformation while preserving continuity, stability, and human dignity.

Technological Transformation

Societal Continuity

About the Author

David Rajan is the author of the Economic Theory of Humanity (ETH) and the founder of the Sustainxiety Institute. His work focuses on understanding how human behavior, economic systems, technological transformation, and long-term societal continuity interact across time.

He brings over two decades of experience in investment management, portfolio construction, and capital allocation. He currently serves as Managing Director at Liwa Capital Advisors, where he contributes to strategic investment initiatives and portfolio design. Prior to this, he held roles at institutions such as the Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC) and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), where he developed a strong foundation in investment selection, risk assessment, and diversified portfolio construction.

Alongside his professional work, Rajan has spent several years developing ETH as a structured framework to interpret human and economic evolution. The framework is built around four fundamental forces—Hunger, Fear, Sustainxiety, and Alpha—and examines how their interaction with changing economic terrains shapes individual behavior, institutions, and societies.

His writing spans multiple domains, including capital markets, governance, artificial intelligence, family systems, education, and the future of work. Across these areas, his work aims to provide a coherent lens for understanding transition and preserving continuity in an increasingly data-driven world.

Through the Sustainxiety Institute, he continues to develop ETH as both a theoretical and applied system, contributing to a deeper understanding of how humanity can navigate technological transformation while maintaining stability, purpose, and human dignity.
